In “Chapter 7: The Bite,” the season 3 finale of Stranger Things, Eleven’s powers were sapped in the fight against the Spider Monster. The Mind Flayer attacks the group after learning of Billy’s plans from visiting him in the Void. One of its tentacles pierces Eleven’s leg during its first attack. With an ax, Lucas manages to decapitate the creature long enough for the rest of the group to get away from it.

However, by the time they arrive at Bradley’s Big Buy, Eleven’s wound is clearly taking its toll. When she’s in the mall, she uses her telekinetic powers to throw a car at a group of Russian soldiers.

One of Eleven’s wounds from the Spider Monster was found in her when she collapses while shopping in the mall. While trying to remove it, Jonathan can’t. In the Stranger Things universe, it’s been a year since Season 3 ended. Joyce, Jonathan, and Will all moved to California, where Eleven is now attending school. At this point, her powers have yet to return. One of the season’s major storylines revolves around her efforts to reclaim them.
