No Man’s Sky Outlaws: How To Create Squadrons

In the wake of the recent release of No Man’s Sky Outlaws, which is also offering Twitch Drops, players have returned to the game to see what it has to offer. There’s something for everyone in the new update, from Outlaw Stations to improved ship combat! You can now form squadrons of “wingmen” to help you in space combat, and they will warp to you when you are about to engage in space combat.

Here we will help you with the creation of Squadrons in No Man’s Sky along with every other detail you need to know. So, let’s get started.

No Man's Sky Outlaws: How To Create A Squadron

How To Create Squadrons in No Man’s Sky Outlaws?

For the purposes of this functionality, Squadrons will consist of NPC pilots rather than actual players. They can, however, be trained at any time during the game. Recruiting NPC pilots to form a squadron for space combat is the first step in the process.

To assemble a squadron, simply seek out the available NPC pilots who are roving the galaxy. As soon as you’ve recruited one, you can have him or her warp to your location for space combat or any other purpose.

Players who want to travel with other NPCs will have a lot more options now that the system is in place. At any time, you can even summon them to fly in formation with you, as well.

Where to Start Building and Managing Your No Man’s Sky Squadron?

After boarding your capital ship (likely a freighter), head to the main central console in the bridge room to begin creating your squadron. A new option to manage your squadron can be found in the same module where you can manage your fleet.

To unlock the four squadron pilot slots, you must first complete the mission. Fortunately, unlocking a new slot only costs a small number of nanites, and the number of nanites you need to unlock new slots grows as you progress.

Squadron slots range from 800 nanites to 10,000 nanites per slot, depending on how many nanites are needed for each slot. However, if you’re running low on nanites, you only need one to get started.

Head to any area where pilots are present. Another freighter, a pirate ship, a space station, or a trading post could be in the vicinity. The lifeform can be added to your squadron by speaking with a ship’s pilot.

Consider the pilot’s stats (example above) before bringing him or her into your squadron, including but not limited to Marksmanship, Leadership, Spatial Awareness, Subtlety Reliability Swashbuckling Anticipation Acrobatics Teamwork and Timekeeping.

Make sure all of your statistics are at least in the “Above Average” or better range and that your pilot’s ship is of the highest possible quality. Choosing a pilot with an S-class ship and Excellent (or even Outstanding) ratings in at least two stat categories is preferable to choose one with a lower ship class. Additionally, although this isn’t clear in terms of overall skill, a high number of confirmed kills helps.

To help you in space combat, your squadron can join in the fight. You can tell your wingmen from your foes by the yellow-orange trails they leave behind in the midst of combat. You and your wingmen can perform aerial stunts and maneuvers together when you’re not engaged in combat.

It’s encouraging to see that the Outlaw patch adds a slew of new features that players can look forward to using for some time. As soon as the Nintendo Switch version of No Man’s Sky launches, this is a fantastic addition to the game, and while you’re searching for roaming pilots, you can enjoy the rest of the update’s new features as well!
