How to Get Leather in V Rising

If you’re going to survive as a vampire, you’re going to need leather early on. Although leather isn’t clearly explained like most early-game crafting items, you may find yourself wondering where it comes from and how to make leather. When a quest tells you to upgrade your Castle Heart with copper bars and leather, that’s when you’ll realize you need it. The problem is that it doesn’t tell you where to get leather.

To turn animal hides into leather, you will need to unlock and build a Tannery, and acquiring the Tannery means killing a specific boss first. V Rising’s leather crafting supplies can be found here.

Crafting leather in V Rising is similar to most other materials in that it isn’t immediately apparent. There are several missions, a large base, and several bosses that must be defeated in order to gain enough experience to craft leather. It’s possible to speed up this process and get your hands on leather much more quickly if you know the right shortcuts.

To begin, you’ll need to follow the tutorial’s instructions for creating a Blood Altar in your castle. You’ll be able to see a blood trail if you select and follow a boss. Second boss Keely the Frost Archer (level 20) unlocks the Tannery after being tracked down and defeated.

Make sure your Gear Score is close to 20 by upgrading your armor and crafting a copper weapon at the very least. The Bandit Trapper Fort is located in the northeastern section of Farbane Woods, where Keely is. Numerous bandits and their pets live in the fort, as well as several large bandit patrols on the nearby roads. Keely isn’t going to be able to handle them.

The Tannery building recipe can be yours after you defeat Keely. To make leather, you’ll need to stock up on animal hides at your base’s Tannery. The Tannery is built with 8 planks and 160 animal hides. Once the Tannery is operational, 16 animal hides will yield one unit of leather.

Well, now that you have some leather, go ahead and craft new pieces of gear and additional base items. We hope this guide helped you. If you liked this, make sure to check out our guide to get iron, find whetstone, and stop decaying your castle.
