On February 18, 2022, Guerrilla Games tweeted that the first restart fixes the download, and the second restart activates the fix! The only way to save the world in Horizon Forbidden West is to restart the game twice.

To reiterate, this is not a traditional patch, so you won’t be able to see it in your console’s operating system when you download it.

Guerrilla Games has been able to release it quickly, so if you haven’t yet started Aloy’s second adventure or are currently engrossed in a Friday afternoon session, just reboot the game a few times to apply these fixes.
