Final Fantasy XVI Release Date for PS5

Final Fantasy 16 has yet to be given a release date by Square Enix. Officially, it appears that the game will not be released until 2022. Producer Naoki Yoshida’s latest update promises the game’s “next big reveal” in spring 2022, implying that the release is still months away.

However, there is a fan theory that the game will be released very soon — possibly this year. One of the Easter Eggs in the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase’s intro appears to point to Final Fantasy 16 being released on June 16, 2022.

A sign in a subway station displays the text “Valisthea 06.16” for a brief moment before disappearing off-screen. Valisthea is the setting for FF16, according to the game’s official website, so 06-16 implies that’s when we’ll get to see it for the first time.

Is Final Fantasy 16 Coming to PS4, Xbox, or Switch?

Final Fantasy XVI Release Date: PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch

Final Fantasy 16 will be a limited-time PlayStation 5 console exclusive. That means the game could be released for other platforms after a certain amount of time has passed.

Final Fantasy 16 will almost certainly be released on the PC, but the same cannot be said for consoles like the Xbox One X/S or the Nintendo Switch. According to all accounts, the game will not be released on PS4.

During the game’s initial reveal, PC was mentioned. Since then, however, Square Enix has reverted to simply referring to the game as a PlayStation console exclusive.

If you want to play it early, you’ll almost certainly need a PS5. With that in mind, a PC release is not ruled out. Even though it has a few performance issues, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake was eventually ported to PC.

The Nintendo Switch, on the other hand, seems unlikely. Nintendo’s hybrid handheld lacks the processing power to run Final Fantasy VII Remake, so it’s unlikely to be able to run a PS5-exclusive title.

It may, however, be technically possible, given the advent of cloud game streaming. However, it’s best not to get your hopes up until we hear from the developers.

Well, that’s all we have here about the release date of Final Fantasy XVI for PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch. We hope this guide helped you.
