One of the early bosses you’ll face in Cuphead’s DLC, Delicious Last Course, is the Moonshine Mob. As usual, there will be multiple rounds of combat, but in this case, the character you’ll be facing off against will vary between rounds. Although it appears simple at first glance, there are a few surprises in store for you as the battle progresses. Okay, so here’s how it goes down.
How to Beat Moonshine Mob in Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course?
If you have played videogames for any length of time, the initial stage should look very familiar. Your first foe will be a giant spider that dashes across three horizontal platforms. Other dangers will appear while you’re trying to avoid the first one.
The flies in the background are harmless and can be avoided by simply moving out of the way.
A gun like Crackshot can be useful because it eliminates the need for precise aiming. A cloud of police officers will appear from all sides and begin firing at you. If you’re watching for parries, you can make these pink.
A green worm, slapped across the screen by the Spider, will bounce in all directions. The bombs should be the last thing you worry about. These detonate when you get too close, but only after a brief delay. It’s best to detonate them on purpose to clear a path for yourself.
In the next stage, a fly of some kind will replace the spider and place a gramophone in the center of the room. The screen will fill with rotating sound waves that will harm you only if their color changes to red.
It’s now possible to avoid the previously-introduced police officers by simply running across the platforms, and the same goes for the newly-introduced enemy, the XXX barrels. Those, however, are allowed to be pink. To conclude this section, that is all there is.
After that, a villainous snail will show up atop a giant anteater, which will promptly bury the snail beneath its hat. The platforms have shattered in the middle, and the anteater will try to trick you with its facial… tube. Avoid worrying about it altogether by staying one step ahead of the situation. Keep firing, and keep an eye out for the police swatting flies that behave similarly to the green worms in that they bounce around.
Finally, we get to the entertaining part. If you manage to defeat the anteater, you’ll receive what appears to be a brand new Knockout graphic. After a short while, the snail will rear its ugly head again and begin firing at you. These strikes are swift but evadable; to achieve a true knockout, simply pop the snail several times.
