You must first be able to use Rock Smash and Strength before being able to use this TM. It’s helpful to have Defog for the climb up to Rock Climb, but it’s not required.
You’ll be tasked with going to the lakes fairly early on in the story because Team Galatic is up to no good. Lake Acuity is the last lake you’ll need to visit.
To get to Eterna City or Celestic Town, take the path through Mount Coronet. After a short distance, the path connects to Route 216, then to Route 217.
A blizzard will appear when you reach Route 217, making visibility difficult. When the blizzard hits, stay to the left until you find a cabin. When you enter, the hiker will tell you that he accidentally dropped the TM containing Rock Climb.
Return to the front of the house and look behind the house for an item. To obtain the TM Rock Climb, pick it up.
Climbing cliffs will now be as simple as walking up to them and pressing A. Before you can use Rock Climb outside of battle, you must first obtain the seventh gym badge.
