When is the Release Date of Pac-Man World: Re-Pac?

Good news for those who can’t wait to jump back into the fan-favorite platformer: they won’t have to wait too much longer. On Friday, August 26, Pac-Man World: Re-Pac will be released. It’s great to have a release date for a game at the same time it’s announced, and even better when that date is only a few months away.

What Platforms Will Pac-Man World: Re-Pac be on?

Since the original Pac-Man World was released for the PlayStation 1, the remastered version will also be playable on PlayStation systems. Combined, it will be available on the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). Apologies to the most devoted customers of the Epic Games Store.

What’s New in Pac-Man World: Re-Pac?

Re-Pac doesn’t do much to shake things up in terms of content. Certain minigames, such as racing, have been updated to work better with current-gen controllers. As would be expected from a remaster released more than 20 years after the original game, the visuals in this version are significantly improved.

This remaster differs significantly from its predecessor in a way that was also modified for Pac-Man Museum+. Bandai Namco cannot use Ms. Pac-Man in this context because of an ongoing legal dispute. Instead, Pac-Mom takes her place; she’s essentially the same character, save for the fact that she wears a purple headband and gloves instead of the wife’s trademark red bow.

Is there a Pac-Man World: Re-Pac Limited Edition?

The trailer’s final shot reveals a limited edition remaster, but it’s for consoles only. It comes with the game for the system of your choice, a Chrome Noir Pac-Man skin for use in-game, and a Chrome Noir Chogokin statue (all pictured below). The standard version of the game costs only $29.99 USD, but the limited edition will set you back a hefty $119.99 USD.

Well, that’s all we know so far about Pac-Man World Re-Pac. We hope this guide helped you. If you liked this, make sure to check out which character and time period to choose in Live a Live.
