Ghost Hunter Quest
You’ll need to locate the Ghostbuster NPC if you want the Ghost ingredient. This NPC can be found in front of the Scare Board, near the Halloween decorations.
As a reward for helping him catch a few ghosts, he will give you the Ghost ingredient in exchange for your assistance. Accept this quest to receive the GhostHunter Gear.
Return to your cauldron and toss the equipment in once you’ve received it. This ingredient will allow you to use your Proton Pack-like weapon to begin catching ghosts after it spawns the ghostbuster equipment.
You must approach a ghost and hold down the action button while doing so to capture it. In order to get rid of the ghost, you’ll have to engage in some chasing!
Make your way back to the Ghostbuster and let him know you’ve collected all ten ghosts. You’ll get the Ghost ingredient after completing his quest.
As a bonus, he’ll mention that you can keep trading your ghosts in for sweets.
