Pokémon GO Poison Type Weaknesses & Counters

When facing off against other trainers, you’ll have access to a wide variety of Pokémon types and moves in Pokémon GO. One or two types may be assigned to each Pokémon. As a result, their effectiveness in the battle against other Pokémon will vary depending on their type. Of the game’s 18 types, Poison Pokémon are the most effective against Grass and Fairy Pokémon. Despite these two major benefits, especially in Generation 6, there are some significant drawbacks and counters to keep in mind when facing a Poison-type Pokémon. In this guide, we will discuss Poison type weaknesses and counters.

Pokémon GO Poison Type Weaknesses & Counters

In Pokémon GO, there are two types of Pokémon that are strong against Poison-type Pokémon. They are Psychic and Ground type Pokémon. Both are extremely effective and will of course get your job done.

Psychic Type

The Psychic type has a large number of legendary Pokémon, including Special attackers like Mewtwo and Deoxys. Therefore, trainers can choose any Pokémon they like to use in battle against Poison-type monsters. Non-legendary Pokémon with strong abilities, such as Alakazam and Metagross with their Psychic and Psyshock, are excellent additions.

Ground Type

Pokémon like Groudon and Dugtrio on the ground have access to special moves and abilities only available to them. Keep this in mind when you’re facing off against Poison-type monsters with one of these Pokémon, as they tend to be more defensive. However, while Poison-type moves can deal heavy damage to Psychic-type Pokémon, they have no effect on Ground-types.

With so many strong non-legendary Ground-type Pokémon, there is no reason to seek out a legendary Ground-type Pokémon like Groudon. Pokémon like Garchomp, Rhyperior, Krookidile, and Excadrill are included in this group. You could do well with any of these Pokémon on your team.

Well, that’s all we have here about Poison Type weaknesses and counters. We hope this guide helped you. If you liked this, make sure to check out how to get Glaceon in Pokémon Go.
