Should you Free the Prisoner from His Cell on The Nova Rock in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

We didn’t have high hopes for Eidos-Montreal’s Guardians of the Galaxy game after the disastrous launch of Marvel’s The Avengers (based on the wildly popular superheroes) last year. However, the game turned out to be astonishing, and after progressing we found players thinking whether they should free the Prisoner from his cell on the Nova Rock or not.

Talking of the game, we were worried that another Square Enix-published game would suffer from the same problems as The Avengers, which made commanding the world’s most powerful super-team a tedious grind.

Fortunately, the creators of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy chose to focus on what makes the franchise so popular. As a result, a single-player adventure reminiscent of the film series has been created. Here’s a guide to decide on whether you should free the prisoner from his cell on The Nova Rock or not.

Should you Free the Prisoner from His Cell on The Nova Rock in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy?

As you play Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, you’ll have to make a lot of small decisions. Some will involve your teammates, while others will be random people you meet as you progress through the campaign.

On the Nova Rock, you’ll have to make a decision as you investigate where everyone has gone in search of Peter’s friend. You’ll hear a voice as you make your way through the various rooms and corridors, and following it will lead you to a man in a cage.

He’ll beg you to release him, claiming to be a mistaken identity victim who doesn’t belong in the cell. He will point you to a button that you can press, and you can choose whether or not to do so.

If you do, the man will not be released; instead, he will be transported to another room and eventually away, while screaming at you. Because you only did what he asked, it’s effectively his own vault. He’ll be left in the room where you found him if you don’t press the button.

What makes it even more intriguing is that pressing the button will reveal his fate later in the level. You’ll find him floating outside the station near the end, and it appears that the button ejected his cell into space.

Well, that’s all we have here. We hope this guide helps you to decide whether you should free up the prisoner from his cell in The Nova Rock in Guardian’s of Galaxy.
