Real-world tournaments with live announcers have traditionally provided commentary for fighting games. This time around, the color commentary for Street Fighter 6 will be integrated into the game itself. Capcom is reportedly “working with well-known fight game community commentators and other recognizable faces to incorporate their voices directly into the game,” according to the PlayStation Blog.

This is a lot like sports game commentary in that it’s meant to spice up the action while also providing players with useful insights and pointers on how to win. In addition to English and Japanese commentary, Street Fighter 6 will feature subtitles in a total of 13 languages. As of this writing, these are the people who have been named as commentators so far.

Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez

Street Fighter 6’s English dub is being provided by Lopez. He’s been playing Street Fighter since he was a kid, and now he hosts and contributes to Street Fighter League and Capcom Pro Tour as a commentator. Due to their resemblance, Lopez frequently jokes about playing Sagat’s stunt double in Street Fighter 6’s current roster.

In spite of the fact that Aru has appeared at Street Fighter events all over the world, he is only providing commentary in Japanese. In addition to his 20 years of commentary on fighting games, he has appeared on Japanese TV, radio, and streaming services. He was a competitive player before he became a host. The seven Street Fighter alums we’d like to see return in the sequel are probably on his mind.
