Call of Duty: Vanguard has been released, and we’ve begun our annual tradition of identifying the best guns and weapons in the game. There’s always a race to see which guns in the game will be nerfed first when a new Call of Duty comes out. As far as guns go, Vanguard has some of the most powerful we have seen in a long time.
What are the Best Guns in Call of Duty: Vanguard?
We’ve put together a list of the best weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard at the moment. The problem is that most of these will be reworked in the first few updates to the game. Even the BAR and Combat Shotgun appear to be glitched at times.
Players, on the other hand, should make the most of their time with these underpowered weapons before they lose their potency and effectiveness.
Best Assault Rifle: Volkssturmgewher
When players reach the end of the game, they will have only one remaining weapon: the Volk assault rifle. It has a low TTK and a fast ADS, but a high muzzle velocity. An excellent gun can be made even better by a good attachment setup, so it’s not really a gimmick.
Best SMG: Owen Gunn
Aside from the Owen Gun, the most versatile SMG, there isn’t much else in the game. Even at medium range, it maintains good accuracy despite its low TTK.
The Hockenson 305MM Precision barrel makes the Owen Gun extremely deadly by allowing it to kill with two headshots. The PPSH-41 may have a higher rate of fire, but the increased damage and accuracy make this the better option in our opinion.
Runner Up: PPSH-41
In light of its high rate of fire, we had to give the PPSH-41 credit. At close range, it has the lowest TTK of any weapon in the game, making it a viable option for players who like to charge in guns blazing.
Best Shotgun: Combat Shotgun
The Combat Shotgun is a possible first target for a nerf. It has a ridiculously long one-shot kill range and comes with a detachable 10-round magazine for faster reloading. Until Sledgehammer fixes this bug, expect to see a lot of people using this gun in multiplayer.
Best LMG: MG42
The MG42 is another weapon that is likely to be reworked in the near future. It fires at an insanely high rate of speed and has a very low rate of return.
It can be made even more accurate and lethal with the appropriate attachments. To sum it up, it’s a faster-firing assault rifle with the sole drawback of a painfully long reload time.
Best Marksman Rifle: BAR
In spite of the fact that it is an assault rifle, the BAR’s low rate of fire and high damage make it an excellent marksman rifle. That gun can kill you in two hits because it has no recoil at all and a ridiculously fast bullet velocity.
The only drawback is that it has a low magazine capacity. It is effective at every range. The sleight of hand perk, on the other hand, can help mitigate this drawback. It’s currently the most effective weapon in the game.
Best Sniper Rifle: Type 99
This weapon is utterly pointless. The 8MM Klauser 5-Round Magazine provides a one-shot kill to the chest. This is a scope king, so there’s no need to waste time.
Attachments that enhance ADS and stability should be added to the 8MM Klauser. Using the Type 99’s default 2.5x scope is fine, and an aggressive sniper can rack up kills one after the other.
